The start of an eventful weekend

Today, I had to go and get our rental car from Hertz at Clayton.

You see, Mr. C's car broke down yesterday and it had to be towed away. If that wasn't bad news enough, we only get our car back after Easter! And how are we to fetch Ah Lih from the Melbourne Tullamarine airport later?

In Australia, you get public holidays for Good Friday and Easter Sunday which spills over to Monday. And because Monday is Anzac Day - another public holiday - hence, it spills over to Tuesday and Tuesday is also a holiday for all!

That is why Ah Lih is here this long weekend- for the Easter holidays to spend time with us and at the same time, bring over one of our left behind luggages in Brissie. We have plans to go to Great Ocean Road, Mt. Dandenong, St. Kilda beach and the famous boat houses at Brighton, a tour of Melbourne CBD (Central Business District) and whatever else we can cram into the next four days!

It wouldn't be nice for Ah Lih to come all the way here and not be able to go about Melbourne especially as this is his first time here despite living in Queensland for the past five years! Hence, Mr. C rented a car till Monday.

Mr. C's colleague was super nice to fetch him to work today. Hence, the responsibility of getting the rented car fell on my shoulders.

I made my journey walking through the park next to our house.

Green leaf maple tree slowly browning...

I just love the leaves against the sky as a backdrop!!

So tempted to pluck a leaf and stick it in a book to get a pressed leaf!

I continued walking, passing all kinds of houses...

The sun was out, shining brightly and I finally reached the bus stop about 20minutes from my house.

The first bus I took...Bus 691.
I got off at Waverly Garden Shopping Centre and hopped on another bus and finally reached Hertz slightly before 1pm. Collected the car assigned, Nissan Ttido and headed home. I don't like this car... it's so sissy... then again, you just can't compare it to a Honda Civic or a Golf GTI or a BMW M3 or a Mini Cooper S! =p

Was cleaning up the house whilst waiting for Mr. C to come home. He got off work about 2ish pm. Apparently every eve of a public holiday, they get to go home early which is really cool unlike Malaysia. He came back and we chilled for awhile and headed to Knox Mall.

Shopped a little at Target whilst getting a new pillow for Ah Lih. Signed up membership at the library and borrowed heaps of books! It's so cool that I can borrow unlimited amount of books, magazines, videos etc. And I don't even have to return the book at the Knox Library. I can choose to return the items I borrowed at the library nearer to home! And it's not old fuddy duddy titles... they have the latest novels too! Really love such facilities here in Australia.

We headed to Shirley's to get some pork for our Bak Kut Teh cookout session on Saturday and it was back to home.

Being silly...

Now, we're waiting to leave for the airport to fetch Ah Lih. Poor guy's flight was delayed. We'll prolly take him to the city for supper, if not The Glen.

This is going to be a super busy weekend. Till then... =)

Have a great weekend guys!
