Whatsapp people!!

Every time I step out of the house, I see things I want to buy...

The beauty of having my Sammie (Samsung Galaxy 2) downloaded with 'Whatsapp' - that allows one to send free texts to anyone with the same application downloaded in their handphone - anywhere in the world, it allows me to keep in touch with my friends and family more frequently and update them with lots of pictures of what I am up to etc.

Gill, one of my victims felt that I seem to want to buy everything since I keep Whatsapp-ing her with pictures of the things I DO wish to buy. That's why, I always say to Mr. C, it's better for me to stay at home.

Then again, there is the evil clutches of this online shopping novelty called the ebay!

#1 - AUD85 heartshaped necklace from HOSKINGS!

#2 - AUD80 one shouldered, sexy blue satin,
knee length dress with some 'jewel' embellishment on the right shoulder and right hip from Stud Park Centre's Just U.
See what I mean about my looking-like-preggers-but-I-am-not-tummy!
So not-me-kind-of-dress but it'll be nice to get in touch with my feminine side and feel pretty at the same time in such a gorgeous dress despite the price!!

#3 - Avene's thermal spring water that really makes one's skin feel super smooth and soft after a spray...
and I think I really need lots of moist on my face and skin!!
NiNi says it's cheaper though in Malaysia... hence, added to my list of things-to-buy-in-Malaysia.
Someone help me to minimise my pores and two toned 'chan' looking skin!! I want SMOOTH skin!!

#4 - I think AUD30ish bag from Equipt. I find it really tough to find a nice shoulder/sling bag.
Really liked this but the price and Mr. C stopped me from getting it!

Staying home is also hazardous when catalogues are sent to the house!! From Reject Shop to Aldi, there are so many things I would love to get and add to our house! That's why I can't wait to get a job!! It's nice to have so much time to myself and all but I think I am really not making full, good use of my time. Even my vocabulary hasn't improved and I struggle at times to write better, with no success.

I am so into photo frames... ask Mr. C! If I had my way, every wall will be adorned with frames and photos of us, family and friends! =) Who knows, you might see your faces if you ever visit me! =) I should do a wall of visitors. Take an instant photo (Polaroid style) whenever someone visits my house, document the date & name of person and stick up to the 'wall of fame'! I'll have to get an instant camera then!

#5 - Mirrors... yet another one of my likes...

and fascinations.

#6 - We so need a new set of bed sheets... and the 410 thread count sounds pretty reasonable for AUD69.

#7 - And this white ish room set of couch, tables and cupboards are calling out to me to take them home!!

#8 - Fancy schmancy but the holes in the cabinet makes me think of dusts and the cleaning.

#9 - Cutesie stuff sold here in Aussie that continually amuses and amazes me.

#10 - Ooooh and always keeping my eye out for cheap cook books!!

#11 - So need this, Aussie homes aren't built for Asian way of cooking!!

#12 - More photo frames!!

#13 - Saw this at Melbourne Central's Borders yesterday and it was on 60% sale. Would've bought it if the sides weren't creased! Hate creased damaged books with dog ears!

#14 - Sexy strappy wedges from Rubi Shoes in the City but cost AUD50!! Mr. C and I really love it but not the price... hence, we left empty handed =(

Besides bombarding friends with pictures of awesome stuff that I would love to get my hands on, I also post lots of other pictures via Whatsapp to family such as...
#15 - Flowers I bought for Aunt M!!

#16 - and I personally wrap them up! =)

#17 - Guess what's been inhabiting our garden??!!

#18 - Earthworms and their POO!! Yuck!!

#19 - Flower pictures...

#20 - Playing around with the different effects of the different camera apps I downloaded...

#21 -and more flowers...

#22 - I will miss this view when Mr. C and I ever move from here...

#23 - Mr. C breaking up long sticks

#24 - and his collection of twigs and firewood

#25 - me with sun ray rings!! Too bad my face spoils the shot =(

#26 - and lastly, lame picture of me with my new coloured fingers... and boy do I have big palms!

PhotoSt0ry© : More Than Just a Cheap Camera

I am the kind of person who is constantly all over the place, call me a jack of all trades and master of none! It's annoying even to myself that I have this compulsion of wanting to dabble in anything and everything.

It's always me in my head with all this awesome ideas and dreams I want to or would love to chase and it goes on and on... which is a problem itself 'cos there is only so many things I can do at a time and with so many things I want to do, I am not focused resulting in my not learning nor doing anything in the end.

Saw this clip earlier today and am reminded, simplicity really is the key. In everything, we seem to love complications, if not, it's just in our nature to complicate a simple matter and blow it out of proportion! Don't you dare shake your head at me with judgment and tell me you don't do that... that'll be just a bald lie!

Hence, I just had to share a simple clip that inspires me... a reminder that there is a story to be told in anything and everything, even just a simple camera.

More wedding dresses...

Just a couple more dresses that I had in mind or came across.

A gown shop that I saw in Brisbane's CBD where the central bus stop was at underground.

The blue was nicer in real life... lousy Ixus 100is and bad dark shots!

Ooooh and I am loving laces... don't tell me you're not!

Modest top, lacey bits, the part I like about the whole dress, bottom downwards look too simple.

Aaaah... I love making statements like the black sash in this white gown!

And have I mentioned how I really like the colour blue??!

This is pretty elegant too right? But not for me, too adult-ish and I am still a kid! Or so, it feels.

A poofy gown. Love the simplicity in this dress and the white material looks high end fashionable!

Don't like this shade of blue though.

ooh like the see through top part but not the dropped waist part...

Designer wedding dresses

I was browsing on The Knot's site on Saturday night. I was taken away with the abundance of wedding gowns available and definitely by the insane prices many brides are willing to pay for the latest styles especially designer gowns!

Yeah sure, if I was a Datuk's (or a filthy rich man's) daughter or fiance, or a celebrity or even royalty, I'll do the whole she-bang grand wedding with the latest and finest things I'd be able to afford. But I am not and I am fine with it. It just makes things a little more difficult but nothing that isn't manageable! See... I am wayyy more positive than I used to be. =)

Saw several dresses that I just had to share with you guys in case you were looking for one, too! If not, you can always keep it for future references! I've actually blogged some of the gowns below before in DREAM WEDDING DRESSES, just that I had forgotten to name the designers.
Get the idea and style you fancy, find an awesome tailor/seamstress, and get your dream wedding gown custom made for a lower price!!

Unless you opt for the bridal houses poofy gowns which is easier and more convenient. My mistake of not doing so. Hence, my mad scramble to find one that I like and compliments my pudgy body.

  • #1 - ny bridal fashion week 2011 - monique lhuillier 4
  • It is a white, lacey ball gown with sleeves. Conservative and yet classy. Similar to Kate Middleton's wedding gown but with a different neckline. According to The Knot's site, 'these hot-off-the-runway dresses may not be available until 2012'. From most of the gowns that I have browsed which supposedly suits my pear shaped frame, Monique Lhuillier's designs tend to capture my fancy. I have blogged several wedding gowns by her before, just that I never did label the gowns.

  • #2 - ny bridal fashion week 2011 - vera wang 1
  • Simple gowns are what that attracts my eye and Vera Wang's designs scream just that. A simple assymetric neckline, white ball gown with a sash to emphasise slim waists. Once again, according to The Knot's site, 'these hot-off-the-runway dresses may not be available until 2012'.

  • #3 - halo australia - h7857
  • I remember blogging about this wedding dress by Halo Australia. It's empire style with a Sweetheart neckline. According to The Knot's site, 'this dress features rouching and weaving on bodice, asymmetric layers of chiffon drape over the skirt. Size 8 - 28. $1,100 - $3,800'. You can always head to Halo Australia's site for more info and selections.

  • #4 - FIORENZA - REECE
  • This strapless ball gown that extends to the floor with a Sweetheart neckline has a bit of a poofiness in the skirt bit. There is just something about sashes/ belt like waist that attracts my attention. Something about enhancing the dress without making it look too simple and boring. The white flower on the right side below the waist is an added distraction to the gown. I reckon they should remove it OR remove the sash bit and put the flower at that area instead. Then again, I am no famous designer, it is just my humble opinion.

  • # 5 - HALO AUSTRALIA - H7859
  • I love a different style that detracts from the all too familiar wedding dresses we see brides wearing off late and this dress is one that definitely ooze simplicity in a classy way. Empire style with beading for embellishments. I gather this dress comes with a v-neck neckline but I couldn't find the picture of the front. According to The Knot, this dress features sheer beaded panel under bust and centre, and also in the back, chiffon sash. Size 8-28. Costs about $1,100 to $3,800'.

  • #6 - amsale : spring 2010 - 4
  • Another ivory and white tulle wedding dress that is strapless with a sweetheart neckline. Comes with a gown waist that is dropped and Chapel train length. See what I mean about sash? And a silk taffeta one to boot! I don't fancy the dropped waist bit though. Feels neither here nor there look - waist ish or hip ish.

  • #7 ny bridal fashion week 2011 - lela rose 5
  • This simple strapless, A-line, lace dress is stunning. Need I say more about less being more?! And lace dresses seem to be a hot favourite among brides this past year. Once again, The Knot noted that, 'these hot-off-the-runway dresses may not be available until 2012'.
  • #8 - HENRY ROTH 'URBAN CHIC' - INGA
  • A strapless Henry Roth, A-line dress with embroidery made of tulle and satin fabric. Sizes from 2 - 18 and plus sizes of 20 - 30. Gown show is ivory and gold in colour but also available in White/White and Ivory/Ivory. Yet another simple, strapless gown. After awhile, you get what gowns I am favouring though I am not sure how I'd look in one since I've pretty broad shoulders with flabby arms!
#9 AMSALE - DALE
  • Strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and embrodery embellishment. One of the few poofy skirts I wouldn't mind. But this gown will look stunning on a slim woman blessed with endowed bossoms.

#10 - JENNY PACKHAM - ROSALIND

A classic empire, stapless dress from Jenny Packham's Spring 2009 collection. And yet for such a simple dress, one pays the price for the elegance of it. Referencing The Knot, 'this dress features beading and tie under the bust. From $5,500'.

  • #11 - oscar de la renta 2011 - 3
  • Aaaah finally, a blue ish ball gown! Nothing much to shout about and yet, there is something about it that makes me think 'chic and classy'. The cut, colour and design...

  • #12 - HENRY ROTH - ZOE
  • I've blogged this dress before as I loved it then, and I still am digging the whole cheeky and chic look now! This is more to something I would really wear. Don't think I do elegance and regal look well... more of a cheeky, cutesie look and this would be it - a satin polka dot 50's inspired ball gown that costs $1175. If I can't find a dress in time, perhaps, I'll get this custom made when I go home in August/September but with a blue sash at the waist part.
#13 - provonias 2012 collection

And just when I thought #12 is the one I love... I stumble across this Provonias collection! Have I mention how I love laces and I am SO loving the top lacey bit! This one, totally, chic and classy all in one! If I were to ever get this, I would use a different material from satin as the above 'cos for my 'full' aka chubby figure, satin shows my lumps all too well.

VERDICT:
For my ultimate dream dress this round, I would combine #13's lace top and #12's bottom skirt. I would prefer chiffon or tulle like skirt for an A-line look hiding my big hips minus the polka dots or it'll be too much!

And I really have to do something about my unflattering, portruding tummy or people will think I am preggers! FYI, in case you're wondering, I AM NOT PREGNANT and won't be for a few more years, if I can help it!

I'm not angry BUT I'm sad

Taken from HERE.

This was taken from FB's Let's get you a love quote! application.

I'm Not Angry Because We Broke Up,
I'm Sad Because I Can't Let You Go..
I'm Not Angry At You For Not Loving Me,
I'm Angry With Me For Still Loving You..
I'm Not Angry That I Lost You,
I'm Sad Because I Once Had You..
I'm Not Angry That I Can't Have You,
I'm Sad Because I Know What I'm Missing..
I'm Not Angry That You've Moved On,
I'm Sad Because I Can't..
I'm Not Angry That You Won't Come Back,
I'm Sad Because I Keep Hoping You Will..
I'm Not Angry Because I Hate You And Don't Want To,
I'm Sad Because I Miss You And I Love You..!

Ahhhhh... the ups and downs of being in love and falling out of it. The joys and the pain. A feeling so simple and yet so complicated, love.

The perils of being in love where one's feelings are no longer reciprocated.
Or rather the love that was never mutual from the beginning.

The big-hearted love of letting the one you care upmost about dance into the arms of another.
Or rather losing the love of your life that was never yours from the start.

The effort, love and care given that was forever taken forgranted.
Or rather the over consuming attention was what drove the other away.

Such a simple and yet powerful feeling that has the ability to invoke all sorts of emotions from within us - happiness, joy, sadness, anger, frustration, disappointment, contentment and the list goes on.

With love, great songs are composed and sappy movies are made. But without love, many sad tunes top billboard charts and many hearts are broken in movies.

With love and/or without it, we either grow or are destroyed. But at the end of the day, it is WE, ourselves who takes the path that makes or breaks us. Hence, it is good to follow one's heart but never be ruled by emotions alone.

LK Benett's Agata Sandal as worn by Catherine Middleton

Ever since Prince Will proposed to Kate Middleton, many seems obsessed with what she wears. I am not one of them but I must agree that she does have impeccable fashion sense. So far, I haven't seen her wearing anything (that is when I do accidentally stumble across any pictures of her) that I dislike.

Whilst reading news and doing wedding research, I came across this site that follows what Kate wears titled 'What Kate Wore'. And her style of simple elegance is what I truly admire. You don't have to bear lots of skin to look elegant, regal and stunning! Doing so tends to cheapen one's look and screams 'welcome to Hollywood!'. And I for one roots that 'less is definitely more'!

The first thing about her assemble that took my attention was her heels! I've been looking for one for my wedding but boy is it tough to find blue heels, either that or I am just looking at all the wrong sites!
Although LK Benett's Agata Sandal isn't of blue hue (my favourite colour), I still fancy it though I do wonder how comfortable it is to walk in. My most important factor of choosing footwear is that it HAS to look good and slinky, of course! But comfort is imperative and I rarely compromise looks over comfort.

If the shoe looks good, I'll try it on but if it's painful or shaky to walk in, I'll pragmatically put it back in the shelf with looks of longing and sighing pangs BUT I definitely don't agree to kill myself wearing crazy-injure-my-feet heels! If you see me sporting crazy high heels, you'd know that I've already tried walking in it, and even running in it to see if it's really worth the buy!

Taken from HERE.

Look at the pictures and tell me that the potential future Queen of England doesn't reek of grace and simple elegance?! You can't can you? She does carry the dress well in a way 'cos she's SUPER thin. Mind you, I said 'thin' not slim. It would be nicer to see some curves on her.

Kate Middleton in Jenny Packham dress, Prada purse and LK Benett's Agata Sandals!

Pictures were all taken from 'What Kate Wore' over HERE.

AFL for Dummies

Australian Football League (AFL) is a pretty much big deal here in Melbourne. Even Mr. C's workplace has a pool of bets whereby each week, if I am not wrong, there are 7 to 8 matches. One chooses the team one thinks will win and write them down, the following week, for every team win predicted, you get points for each winning. And at the end of the whole season, the person with the most points WIN! Winning prize is approximatly AUD1,000. Pretty cool right?

He has had colleagues fight over him to choose each of the own teams they support - Collingwood Magpies vs Essendon Bombers!

And due to all the buzz, I have been wondering what is all the hype about AFL though I never bothered to really find out more on it. Yesterday at the library, I saw the above book and decided I should borrow it to gain some knowledge of this sport that has garnered such fierce loyalties and support from most Melbourners!

Who would have thought that today, Mr. C would called me to say that we're going to out FIRST AFL match tonight, courtesy of his company! How awesome is that?!

Honestly, I am not sure if I am going to enjoy watching the match BUT I am determined to add this to my experiences-to-have-in-Melbourne! AND it's FOC! Who in their right mind would complain about freebies?! Even if it turns out to be a boring match, at least, I'll be able to say that I've been to an AFL match and determine for myself if I like AFL.

Basically, the below picture is some basics about the game...

And this is how much points you get if you score a goal IN BETWEEN the goal posts (the taller poll) and subsequently and a point each for scoring at the outer posts on the left or at the right.

You can pass the 'ball' up an down the field by...

I'll blog more on this match in another post. For now, if you are interested for more info, here's the BEGINNER'S GUIDE.

Toodles... Mr. C just called and said that they're (they being him and his colleagues) on their way back to fetch me. Gotta run!!

Pearls of wisdom from Mylo

Was clearing my inbox and ridding it of junkmails when I came across an ex-colleague's mail on pearls of wisdom learnt from her beloved Mylo. Initially, I thought 'yet another forward junkmail...' but the name Mylo rang a bell and instead of hitting the 'delete' button, I read everything right till the end.

Read the below, loved it and just had to share it!

Funny Camz has always had a way with words - witty and insane! Guess it must run in the family as her cousin, Master Chand is the genius behind 'Pearls of wisdom from Mylo'.

Take a guess on who Mylo is.. there's a picture at the end revealing Mylo's identity.

Remember, if Mylo was the teacher you would learn things like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.

Take naps.

Stretch before rising.

Play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

Speak , when necessary.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie on a cool floor.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you're not.

Be Silent and observe.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

FEEL THE ENERGY AND.........

ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!!!
