RECIPE : Konnyaku Jelly... the Kookie way

We were greeted with gloomy looking skies and mists as we headed to work.

Lunch time... at Hoa Tran, a Vietnamese eatery in Springvale.

Hoa Tran
246 A rear of Springvale road, facing Buckingham Ave, carparks, 246 Springvale road
9am - 9pm (cash only)

Too many choices make decision making tough... LOL!

AUD3.50 White coffee, Prefer the one at Than Dat.

JS's Vermicelli combination that looked alluringly delicious.

My AUD9 Pho with beef slices and beef balls...
It was alright but I still prefer the one at Than Dat... as blogged HERE.
Somehow, the soup is tastier there and portion is even bigger!

Lastly, heart shaped Konnyaku jelly for tomorrow's party!

Ever since I read 3iLing's post on how she made Konnyaku jellies,
I have made batches and batches of this yummy jelly.

Easy step-by-step instructions.
My first jelly making attempt HERE.

Now, it's sitting idly in the fridge awaiting to be gobbled up at Mr. C's early birthday bash.

10.07.11 Palais Theatre and New York New York

Hi Melbourners, have you guys ever been to Palais Theatre? Or even heard of this maginificent looking theatre? Well, neither did I 'till I bought two AUD10 (normally AUD20) tickets to watch 'New York New York' that was on special.

What's 'New York New York' you asked?

Well, during the second week of July, there was the Music on Film Festival going on in Melbourne and the Palais Theatre was screening different musical like films. Besides the Disney one that wasn't on offer, the rest lacked appeal. Only Liza Minelli's name - who starred in New York New York - stood out together with Robert De Niro and hence, we bought the ticket to watch them both.

Movie was alright. Theatre is beautiful!

A day of hearts, pie and flowers

Time is short and the night is almost over. Time to sleep. But before that, I leave you with a series of photos.. Enjoy! :)

My heart, I give you.

Pie for lunch.

Mr. and Mrs. Leong

Little treasures in my garden.

Roses are red, daisies are white.

My visit to the library resulted in...

Homecooked linguini bolognaise...

Fry mince pork with diced onions, chopped garlic with olive oil.
Add in sliced mushrooms and tomato paste with some oregano and bay leaves.

And VOILA! Dinner is served!

This is how I look with NO double eye lids and make up!!

My day in pictures

A little tired and short of time tonight, hence, I shall let the pictures do the talking. Enjoy! :)

#6 Oh Oscar Wilde... and your Dorian Gray piece that gave me the shivers

#7 The man who gave us Alice in Wonderland

#7 A classic English literature

#8 Of a giant and mean little men

#9 I've heard about The Great Gatsby on numerous occasions but for the life of me,
I am utterly clueless to what it's about.

#10 Domokun kiddy boots taken for Arty, a Domokun fan.

#12 Today's office attire, at the tv room.

#13 In the formal dining room with no dining table but a wall of mirrors.

#14 Where I take pictures of me

#15 Mirror Mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?

#16 Looking knackered out rather than cute

#17 I don't do smoldering, sultry, seductive looks

#18 I just huff and puff

#19 Sob my heart out being true to my Eeyore self

#20 Each doing our own things

#21 Finally, back to the tv room and suave Nick Cafferty

#22 Unhealthy dinner of dumplings and bacon strips in Asam Laksa flavoured Maggie Mee

#23 How to make chocolate chips

#24 It's easy as 1,2,3

#25 Essential tools

#26 Mix 125g of butter with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of white sugar till fluffy than mix in 1 egg and 1tsp of vanilla essence

#27 Next, sift 1 and 1/2 cups of self raising flour into mixture and combine

#28 Lastly, pour 3/4 cup of Cadbury chocolate chips and 2 tbs of peanut butter, optional.

#29 Scoop 1 tsp full of cookie dough and lay them onto lined cookie tray

#30 With this recipe, make the dough small like Malaysian 20cents coin size.

Preheat oven at 160degrees for 10 minutes BEFORE putting the cookie in to bake. According to instructions, bake cookies for 10-15minutes.

However, for my experiment today, I had to bake them slightly longer as I probably made each cookie a tad too big!
