Sex and frequency

I don't remember what prompted this conversation BUT I remember this clearly as if the conversation took place yesterday.

Picture taken from HERE.

(Two naive, innocent and single woman chatting)
Me: I think people have sex everyday, or at least once a day.
MC: Seriously??! I thought they do it twice to three times a week!
Me: Really? HAHA. So, we should ask LY since she's married with a kid!

But we never did ask her.

Picture taken from HERE.

And just yesterday, MC facebook message me that she is pregnant!! Congratulations to her as it is what she has been wishing for! Now, I should redirect the question back to her. *winks*

Quarter Life Crisis

This past one year, I have been thinking A LOT. Thinking about my future. Thinking of who I am. Sometimes getting anxious at the constant turmoil I feel within myself and yet can't seem to get out of. Besides that, I hate the endless, constant feeling of uncertainty.

Picture taken from HERE.

Just the other day, I plurked that I was going through quarter life crisis. And you know what?? I realised that I didn't know what it exactly meant. Hence, I do what I always do when I am not sure of something, I googled "quarter life crisis".

And this is what Wikipedia gave me...

Characteristics of quarter-life crisis may include:

* realizing that the pursuits of one's peers are useless
* confronting their own mortality
* watching time slowly take its toll on their parents, only to realize they are next
* insecurity regarding the fact that their actions are meaningless
* insecurity concerning ability to love themselves, let alone another person
* insecurity regarding present accomplishments
* re-evaluation of close interpersonal relationships
* lack of friendships or romantic relationships, sexual frustration, and involuntary celibacy
* disappointment with one's job
* nostalgia for university, college, high school or elementary school life
* tendency to hold stronger opinions
* boredom with social interactions
* loss of closeness to high school and college friends
* financially-rooted stress (overwhelming college loans, unanticipatedly high cost of living, etc.)
* loneliness, depression and suicidal tendencies
* desire to have children
* a sense that everyone is, somehow, doing better than you
* frustration with social skills

And after evaluating the above... Shoots!!! I suffer from the above characteristics! All 100% of the above!! But upon further reflection, I think most people would probably be going through at least 60-80% of the above and does that make them all suffer from quarter life crisis??!! How dysfunctional we are these days then.

Friends and family see my uploaded pictures in FB of my days in Brissie and naturally assume that I am having a ball of my life over here. I guess I can't blame them for having such assumption. I do look "happier" and am going places or so it seems.

I post 100 over pictures of one day in my life and it looks like fun while everyone else is slaving at work. But people don't think about the other 29/30 days of non posted pictures and what goes behind it. It's human nature in a way, to take things at face value. Visual animals.

Most probably I just have too much time at my disposal. You know the saying says.... "An idle mind is the devil's workshop!".

I guess when you work, there is a sense of purpose, a sense of an aim- even if you hate work, you wake up, go to work, try to survive the day of work with minimal scoldings and end the day with dinner, chilling at home or out with friends.

It feels rather surreal, my being here. After slaving for 3 years and 9 months in the audit world and then 4 months plus in Corporate Finance, it is so different NOT working at all. I do miss earning my own income and having my own money to spend and yet, I would not do things any differently- that is, leaving the audit world behind.

Truth be told, I have been feeling a tad blue this past week but that doesn't have to mean that I am suffering quarter life crisis. And even if I really were, I will rise above and pull myself out of it! =)

Things to note:
This site really makes me feel as if I am being described. Well, most of it.

And read this site for 5 strategies to overcome your quarter life crisis.

Quarter life crisis is replacing mid life crisis
and most 20 something and 30 something year olds have it even without really knowing.

BEST MARRIAGE PROPOSALS OF 2009

STORY #1 - You Ought to Be in Pictures
The one thing my boyfriend, Josh, and I don't have in common is movies -- I love them, but he could care less. But for our third anniversary, Josh offered to take me to see one. When we walked into the theater, it was already dark, so we grabbed a seat near the front. Suddenly, a picture of us came up on the screen -- Josh had made a movie about us! He and some of our friends acted out scenes from our relationship, and as the movie ended, I turned and Josh was kneeling on the floor. He opened a box with a ring pop inside just as the words "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" flashed on the screen. Then the lights turned on and everyone yelled, "Surprise!" Both of our families and our closest friends were in the theater watching the whole time!

STORY #2 - Rules of Engagement
My boyfriend, Nate, had been deployed in Afghanistan for a year, so for my birthday, Nate's friends threw me a party so I wouldn't be alone. The last present I opened was a card that told me to check my closet upstairs. In the closet, I found a DVD with a note that said, "Watch immediately." It was a video of Nate in Afghanistan, holding a sign that said to go to the first place we met. We all drove over to the school where Nate and I had been kindergarten classmates, and then I saw a soldier on the playground. Before I could process what was happening, I realized it was Nate, who had somehow managed to come home. I started bawling on his shoulder, and then he got on his knee and pulled out a ring that was custom-made for me in Afghanistan.

NOT QUITE PERFECT MARRIAGE PROPOSALS but they did try..

STORY #3- Lost and Found
I decided to take my bride-to-be back to the beach where we'd shared our first kiss and propose to her during sunset. I had the ring on my necklace because I thought it would be easier to take off, but I was a little nervous as I kneeled down, and when I tried to take it off, the necklace snapped. The next thing I remember: holding a broken necklace with no ring. We searched the sand inch by inch until nightfall, and then I decided we needed a metal detector. I quickly went out and bought one while my fiancee marked the spot, and it took us less than three minutes to locate the ring. Ticket to the pier: $2. Metal detector: $70. The feeling after we found the ring: Priceless.

STORY #4 - It Was a Gas
My fiance planned a trip to a ski resort in Pennsylvania, and had intended to ask me to marry him on a sleigh ride, but a heat wave had melted almost all the snow. He then decided he would just take me on a carriage ride, thinking it was going to be very romantic. NO! The horses started farting! And shedding! We had horsehair in our mouths and could smell farts the whole time. We finished the ride, and Jimmy wanted me to follow him to the edge of the mountain, but because of the rain, everything was muddy, so I said, "No, thanks, I'll stay over here!" He was so frustrated, he finally just plopped down on his knee right there in the mud and asked me to marry him!

MY STORY..

Read Mr. C's proposal to me and decide for yourselves if it was GOOD or BAD. =p

Ginger Factory at Yandina

Last Wednesday, it was Mr. C's day off and we went to several places in Sunshine Coast as previously blogged. We went to (you can click on the links below to refer to the respective posts)...

- The Big Pineapple at Woombye, just off Nambour.

- Eumundi Market.

- Main Beach at Noosa Heads.

After walking along the beautiful beach at Noosa Heads. Mr. C and I made our way to Glass House Mountains. He drove while I took pictures. I used to be more reserved and shy and would definitely NOT upload any pictures of myself.

But eventually, I learn to take slightly better pictures and play around with angles. If you see one good picture of me, it's only because I probably took 101 other bad pictures and just that particular one good picture. It is still a learning process though and I have heaps more to learn.

As usual, am trying out taking pictures from different angles.

Google Maps on Iphone is super handy in locating one's next destination.

I simply love taking pictures of skies and powerlines.

And Queensland is after all known as the Sunshine State.
Hence, enabling beautiful moments to be captured.

The thing with this journey is a straight road that seems to go on forever.

and ever... but seeing some cows does add a change to the scenery.
Unfortunately, I didn't see any black patched cows that always appears in milk adverts.

Long journeys always reminds me of Donkey in Shrek and his "Are we there yet??".

When we saw this sign, we decided to detour to The Ginger Factory,
seeing that it's on the way somewhat.

I didn't see any ginger bread man in the shop though.

Waitaminute. There you go. Mr. C aka Mr. Ginger man.

Ever the corny person that I am, here's a corny pose of me.

Map of the inside of the place.

This is what I saw in The Ginger Factory- plants after plants!

and a stationary train that takes you on tour of the place but you have to pay to for it!

I have no idea what's inside this cottage and the one below, thanks to Mr. C who was ushering us to leave as he was worried we wouldn't make it to Glass House Mountain before sun set. This is a similar experience with The Big Pineapple- there isn't really anything much to see unless you go for the tour. Admission is free but for everything else ie tours, it's not.

Where are you hiding Mr. Ginger Bread Man??!!

And what else would you expect... all products made with and from GINGER!!

Mr. C enjoying another ginger ale despite consuming a bottle of it at the Eumundi Market.

We were only at The Ginger Factory for about 15minutes or so. It really wasn't worth the detour unless you actually come earlier for the tours or decide to just hang out there to chill with some friends at the cafe.

Besides, we were in a rush to go to Glass House Mountain to check out the scenic lookout. Mr. C already gave up any hope of reaching there before sunset but I said that we wouldnt know unless we try because we were not sure of the exact distance and how long it would take us.

THE GINGER FACTORY
OPEN 7 DAYS 9AM - 5PM (CLOSED CHRISTMAS DAY)
50 Pioneer Road, Yandina, Sunshine Coast Queensland, 4561

Just 90 minutes north of Brisbane. Follow the Bruce Highway (M1) to the Yandina/Coolum exit and follow the signs.

Stay tune to find out if we made it up before sunset!!

最后一次- The last time

Initially, it was thought that the girl who sang this song which is about a girl dying from skin disease at 17 was singing about herself and that she had died. But it turns out, she is alive and well. However, there is an issue over who is the original song writer.

A sad song but the tune is just beautiful.

歌名:最後一次
創作:洪黎明 (or with 簡靖紋 ? 有爭議)
演唱:LAVIGNE (簡靖紋)
Taken from this site.

在我最後一次 閉上眼睛之前
Before the last time I close my eyes

我想對你說我愛你
I would like to tell you I love you

在你懷裏 捨不得放棄
Reluctant to give up in your arms

心裏有千萬語還沒說給你聽
Millions of words in my heart have not been said to you

我使勁全力 不想閉上眼睛
I do not want to close your eyes fully

這次告別就不能再相遇
No longer meet the farewell

不能再陪你 但不要忘記
Can not be with you but do not forget

你曾經答應我你會好好活下去
Have you ever promise me you will live on

想走了 去了好遠的地方
Want to leave to a better far away

不能再陪你看日出 等不到天亮
Can not accompany you to watch sunrise anymore can't wait to see the sunlight
所有回憶 抹去卻並不容易
All memories will not be easily forgotten
生死由天決定 不要太傷心
Life and death decisions should not be too upset by the day

在我最後一次 閉上眼睛之前
Before the last time I close my eyes

我想對你說我愛你
I would like to tell you I love you
在你懷裏 捨不得放棄
Reluctant to give up in your arms
心裏有千萬語還沒說給你聽
Mind that the millions of words not to you

我使勁全力 不想閉上眼睛
I do not want to close your eyes fully

這次告別就不能再相遇
No longer meet the farewell
不能再陪你 但不要忘記
Can not be with you but do not forget
你曾經答應我你會好好活下去
Have you ever promise me you will live on

在我最後一次 閉上眼睛之前
Before the last time I close my eyes
我想對你說我愛你
I would like to tell you I love you
在你懷裏 捨不得放棄
Reluctant to give up in your arms
心裏有千萬語還沒說給你聽
Mind that the millions of words not to you

我使勁全力 不想閉上眼睛
I do not want to close your eyes fully

這次告別就不能再相遇
No longer meet the farewell
不能再陪你 但不要忘記
Could not be with you but do not forget
你曾經答應我你會好好活下去
Have you ever promise me you will live on

我永遠愛你
I will always love you

Times up

You know it's time to step away from the computer when you...

#1 - Start messaging or making comments at random people's status and walls in FB or uploading pictures after pictures. I know you do it too!! =p

#2 - Read blog after blogs until your eyes are crossed. Ok. Ok. I ADMIT. I have no life!

#3 - Tweet or Plurk about every single thing you do such as.. "I am blue" , "I am bored" or "I just farted" or "I need to pangsai (shit)" . I don't do the last two lah but you get what I mean.

#4 - Writing posts after posts in your blog for the day but no one comes to read it anyway. Story of my life. =p

#5 - Replying people's emails to the point that you feel that you're repeating yourself over and over or that you have no aim or going no where in life or just generally miss home. Pathetic. I know.

#6 - You have thousand and one other things to do but it's just left at a corner with Miss Procrastination for the time being. Or so you tell yourself.

#7 - It's 3.30pm (Brisbane is 2 hours ahead of Malaysia) and you're still sitting in your PJs Youtubing, FBing, Plurking, Blogging, emailing and God knows what else.

Ultimately, it is time to remove your keys from the keyboard and your eyes from the screen when you feel that time is passing you by and you have no life and have been hooked to your PC/laptop/netbook 24/7!

So toodles... going to the mall opposite the road- Carindale Mall for lunch with Mr. C and not be such a homey geek with no life. =p

TIM thighs and TAM tummies

Although I am an engaged woman, I don't feel like one. I still refer to Mr. C as 'boyfriend' and not fiance. My friends would stressed the obvious fact to me that since I am engaged, logically speaking that makes Mr. C my fiance prompting me to inform them that it just feels strange calling him so. Especially when we don't act adultish nor matureish. And fiances are supposed to be for mature, responsible adults right? Bingo. And there you have it!

Despite me turning 26 in November, I still don't feel like a 26 year old. What do I mean by being a 26 year old, you might ask. Well, for one, I don't look my age. Most of the times, people tend to minus off at least 3 years to my actual age. As a woman, I guess I should take that as a compliment. Youthful looks. Now, if only I have flawless complexion, that would really make my day.

Even associating myself in the same sentence with the word "woman" is laughable. When you see how I look you'll comprehend my meaning. I probably look more like a Uni student or someone in their early 20's. Maybe the fact that I don't dress up much either contributes to my not looking my age.

Obviously being engaged, it leads to the next step- marriage. Don't ask when the big date is because we, ourselves don't have an exact date planned out yet. Tentatively, it'll be end 2011. Whether it happens, that is a long and different story altogether.

Which leaves me with plenty of time to lose any unwanted weight and shine as a stunning, beautiful and radiant bride. Right??!! More than 12 months and 1Kg for each month sounds doable. Right??!!

BUT living here in Brissie isn't helping. In 4 weeks, I've put on the 3kgs that I lost in the beginning part of the year. Bummer.

The reason why I put on weight is due to low metabolism and I do have heavy bones. When I told a guy friend that a few weeks back, he laughed at me and said that I was just making excuses to console myself. I thought he was a jerk for saying so. But I realised, when I hang out with that guy friend, I tend to lose more weight. I dunno if it's the ribbing that gets to me or what but I just do.

Enemy #1 - Bubble tea
Enemy #2 - Tim Tams

Enemy #3 - Arnotts Biscuits or Cottage cookies

Enemy #4 - Chips

Enemy #5 - Coffee

It's time to cut down on my cheer-me-up food or perhaps I should do double time at the treadmill or jog at the park to offset the junk I input into my system. Maybe even swim in the chilly winter weather might help me burn off more fats.

Mr. Jerk said that if I ever lost weight/fats and be slim, a lot of guys would come after me. Wonder what does that have to do with anything. As if I would need any unwanted attention as an engaged lady. =p

I have been gaining weight ever since going out with Mr. C rewinding back 10 years ago. My ideal weight now should be my weight 10 years ago before I met him. Ditch him? Muahaha. Kidding.
This is going to be one tough battle to fight. Anyone who is out to lose weight can tell you that. And I hope to come out of it- a winner. A slimmer one. =) *fingers crossed*

The unattainable

Picture taken from HERE.

Ever been in the situation where that very one thing that you want is so near and attainable and yet so far? All you have to do is just stretch out your hand and it's in your grasp but something is in the way, hindering you from doing so. And you want it so badly that it just frustrates every good feeling out of your very being.

And then you wrestle with yourself, mentally.
