10 tips on how NOT to put on weight

Ever since my wedding, I've been slowly gaining weight. This year, I kept telling myself that I need to lose weight and that I will especially as I'll be a bridesmaids again (for the second time) in September.

I still cringe every time I look back at Miss Lawyer's wedding last year. For one, the bridesmaid hairstyle and make up I had wasn't flattering. :( And secondly, I don't think I look that pretty in the dress. Not saying it's the dress' fault but more of me not being happy with my body shape.

Putting on weight is so much easier than losing weight. Because you eat away and just pile on the weight slowly and surely and before you know it, you're a fatty. Not you. Me, that is. :(

And when you do decide to do something about losing those few gained weight, it feels like it takes forever and oh-so-much effort. I watched My Kitchen Rules 2/3 of the week early on in the year and gained 2kgs. I got sick in March and last those 2kgs.

But since then, I've gained them back and I've been at my heaviest. Shocked me to the core to see my weight on the scales. Told myself I've got to really do something about this and I have. Shall leave it for another post.

Thinking about all this and based on my own experience, I've come up with a list on 8 tips of how NOT to put on weight!! Lols.

#1 Don't sit on the couch like a couch potato after meals. Do house chores.

#2 Don't eat chocolates, chips or ice-cream or anything unhealthy that is loaded with carbs and sugar. Well, don't eat every single day of the week lah.

#3 Don't be a bum, get your ass moving and go for a jog or a swim or a Zumba class or Body Combat! Health is wealth!

#4 Don't eat more than you need. Eat to live and not live to eat.

#5 Don't be picky with your food. Eat your fruits and veges even if your mother doesn't make you do so!

#6 Don't be a girl who has sugar cravings and erm.. PMS?

#7 Don't have friends so you won't have anyone to meet over yummy meals.

#8 Don't have money to enjoy the delicious food out there?

#9 Don't bake or cook as it will lead you to have second helpings for sure!

#10 Don't EAT! lol

Haha.. Ok. I was kind of struggling towards the end. Hence, the silliness. Lols. But hey, true isn't it? Hope it was helpful! :)

Last Wednesday's skies

Last Wednesday, Spring felt like it has finally arrived. Although Spring officially started on 1st of September, the weather still felt like we were stuck in Winter. No complains 'cos I love the cold.

However, rain and any water droplets or gloomy clouds are NOT welcome.

I just had to snap this few shots (of course, when the vehicle isn't moving) when the opportunity presented itself. The sky was SO blue (well, not well depicted in the photos taken) and SO clear. Added to that was the cotton like clouds plotted across the landscape up in the air.

Spring is here!

Malaysia's climate is mainly hot, humid and the occasional rain. And the past 27 years of my life was just acclimated to those weather. I wear jeans all year round. I wear shorts and short skirts all year round.

Despite it's erratic four seasons in a day weather, Mr. C and I love the cold in Melbourne. We prefer cold over heat, anytime. Autumn's just nice; not too cold and wet like winter and sunny but not too warm and hot like summer.

Migrating to Australia and living in Australia with it's four seasons have been fascinating. It's something I've only watched in the movies for most part of my life. There's spring time where flowers come to life and shine in all their glory.

And you have summer time, where the girls bask under the hot sun in bikinis for a healthy or not-so-healthy tan giving guys an eyeful and equally not to be outdone, guys in shorts showing off their abs playing beach games or whatnot.

Then there's autumn and winter where the leggings, boots, jackets, scarves and shawls make their annual appearance. Not forgetting burets and beanies to keep ones head and ears warm.

On our way out yesterday, I quickly pulled on my beanie 'cos I thought I looked cute wearing it. Guess what Mr. C had to say?

"Why are you wearing a condom cover?"

My first reaction was to find hilarity in that comment and then -_-" 'cos what on earth is a condom cover and how does one actually look like? Lols. That's Mr. C humour for you.

18.08.2012 The Twin's visit

Few weekends ago, we planned for a day trip to Mornington Peninsula. Due to the rainy weather forecast, sadly for my twin, we changed plans and headed to St. Kilda and the city instead.

Saturday BBQ at Lyrterfield Lake Park

With the in-laws here, I somehow struggle to find time to blog and when there's time, I just don't feel like it. Hence, I've got many posts stuck in drafts especially J & G's trip here during mid March. And now, with the in-laws here, I've got a few additionals posts stuck in drafts regarding their trip.

Lol. And it's going on to four months since the wedding reception back home in Malaysia took place that I've yet to blogged about it. Gosh... has three months of 2012 really flown past that fast?

Today, instead of the initial planned Great Ocean Road trip, we stopped by the butcher at Wellington Village Centre and bought our meat for BBQ on the way to Lysterfield Lake Park. I could see that Mr. C's mum wanted some sausages and at first, Mr. C was all "oh, we've got so much meat... don't need to buy sausages" but I said that his mum wanted some and I, too wanted some.

His dad saw Mr. C's mum and I browsing at sausages telling us with a frown etched across his face, "don't buy sausages, we've got so much food already" but he proceeded to have a look and recommended us to get the French Pepper. LOL. Then he went off to where Mr. C gestured him over to his side, at the steak section.

It was a beautiful day for a picnic; the sun was up and the breeze welcomed us. Shortly after we arrived, the sun took a dip behind the clouds. Had us worried for a moment that it might pour. Well, Mr. C wasn't worried, as usual. Just worrywart me.

I love to see Mr. C's mum and dad interact; they're playful and when his dad's serious and gan cheong, at times, telling his mum off, she takes it all, in a stride, with gentle tolerance and a smile. It's one thing I have yet to accomplish. If it was me, I would be ticked off BIG time. Probably the 'fighter' side of me. LOL.

The park is huge and there were many families out and about on such a fine day. Some were eating, chatting as their children blew bubbles, cycled and played football. There were a group of young Indian men playing volleyball. At the other area from where we were at was a family; the two boys on the pier doing what boys do, rumbling about as a young mother was pushed out by the hubby for a canoeing trip.

After our feeling and satisfying BBQ, we went for a walk, exploring our surroundings. The scene that greeted us was just peaceful and soothing. The air was fresh and the walk, invigorating.

The more decent looking photos of me

I have definitely put on weight on closer inspection ;(

It's a good thing his parents decided not to walk the Lake Circuit Walk today. If not, I might be 6 foot underground as it'll take us about 2 hours of 6km walking and I can feel Aunt Irma calling out to me from down the road. She seems to be visiting rather frequently, isn't she? It feels like I blogged about PMS just last week when it was about a month back.

I will endeavour to turn my drafts into posts in the next few days and hopefully on my wedding. LOL. I know it shouldn't bother me but I felt that my wedding could've been better; more meaningful, better planned and definitely much more beautiful.

I do wonder what people's feedbacks are especially my friends but oh well...
