Kooky Pics #21 Early halloween?

My friends and I chanced upon this lady that was all "dressed up" on a Friday night in Melbourne city. She keeps very still until you drop a few coins into her bucket. Mind you, this is during winter itself!

As she hears the clank of coins dropped into the bucket, she then, comes to life like a musical box figurine, dancing, once being winded up.

i.need.more.hours

SOMETHING ABOUT ME: Happy endings to a movie is a MUST for me.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We only have 24hours in a day and yet we spend approximately 6-8hours of it sleeping, another 8-14hours working, 2-4hours of it consuming our daily meals and the remaining hours pooping or peeing or showering and generally on the road, getting from one point to another.

It feels as if I have a mountainful of things I want to do from learning how-to-play-the-guitar to blogging-about-events-or-contests-or-politics-or things-that-matter to learning-new-songs-on-the-piano to job hunting to doing house chores to settling house matters and the list just goes on and on. And this is NOT even including my weekly korean lessons and badminton sessions!

I still want to go swimming, dancing, shopping, learning more on photography and writing etc. It's as if I am trying to do all the things I missed out on, that I didn't managed to do in my college and uni years!

Plus, with my waking up to half the day gone, I have even less hours to do anything!! Dang.

And with that, there are just endless things going through my mind to be sorted out just like my unsorted blog lists and pictures and movies cluttering my mini netbook.

That's me at the moment- cluttered.

Anticipation

Viewing the All American Reject's (AAR) cover of Britney Spear's "Womaniser" with Tyson, the lead singer's face staring straight at me.

"First look at Tyson- he looks like a druggie (drug addict)", I thought out loud.

"He probably is but he's soooo cuuuuute!!!", says my cutesy cousin. WAITAMINUTE. Did she say cute or charisma? =p) "BUT if you see him in real life, he has charisma!!!

So, I'll be heading to their concert this Saturday to see if it's true. =p Hope they change the venue back to 1utama!!

THANKS to DIGI, I have free tickets!!! I lost my ticket and had to get another one. Ish. But no worries, had an extra one from the cutesy cousin!!

And finally, I get to actually go for a somewhat PROPER and REAL concert. At the same time, I can scratch it off my "things-to-do-before-I-am-25" list!!

Anyone else going?

Time Traveller's Wife, book and movie review

Darn it! I want to watch Time Traveller's wife and it's showing tomorrow but I 've got dinner to attend. Bleh.

The movie is based on a novel written by Audrey Niffenegger, if I am not mistaken.

THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE
Release Date: 29 October 2009
Language: English
Running Time: 1 hour 48 minutes
Director: Robert Schwentke
Cast: Rachel McAdams, Eric Bana.

Synopsis: “The Time Traveler’s Wife” is based on the best-selling book about a love that transcends time. Clare (Rachel McAdams) has been in love with Henry (Eric Bana) her entire life. She believes they are destined to be together, even though she never knows when they will be separated: Henry is a time traveler—cursed with a rare genetic anomaly that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline, skipping back and forth through his lifespan with no control. Despite the fact that Henry’s travels force them apart with no warning, Clare desperately tries to build a life with her one true love.

Broken-ness

Reminiscing as I browse through my undeveloped pictures.

It was during my August Aussie trip, after the bf's work. And as we were walking towards Coles, I came across the above and figured that it'll make an interesting macro shot. Whilst I was trying to get a good angle, he stepped on it!!!

Obviously NOT paying attention to what I was doing. =p

I was like.... "YOU STEPPED ON MY SUBJECT!!" Grrr...

And he quickly moved away.

I took the picture and hey... it turned out pretty alright.

Have you?

WISHFUL THINKING: I dreamt that my Nuffnang earnings went up by RM100!! I checked but NO such thing. =(

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pic taken from HERE.

Do forgive me. It has been awhile since my last major melancholic meltdown. Allow me some moments of emoness. I am sure everyone goes through this every once in awhile. And if you don't, you just ain't human!

The past few days haven't been great and I really hope to snap out of it soon. It's as if the past 5 months effort of me trying to stay out of this mode just went "whissshhh...", swept away. After the crazy joking last night, I seriously thought I was back on my feet. Only to be knocked off them again from a demoralising prep talk. Then, came the torrents of waterfall.

Just a thought. Ok. A few thoughts.

Have you ever felt so low that
nothing seems to matter anymore? Literally nothing?

OR that the person you look to just don't seem to give you the words of comfort you seek?
OR perhaps, you just can't seem to see the bright spots? ANY bright spots. And you don't even want to see it just right then??!!

Does this low feeling ever make you have a crazy urge to scream on top of your lungs and let it all out??!!

Maybe you experienced the feeling of such sadness which overwhelms you so much that you can't stop the tears from streaming down? and the harder you try, the harder it falls?

OR perhaps... the impulse to do something extremely crazy is SO strong? Perhaps, to just feel the short term adrenaline rush that numbs the pain.

Well, I have.

But this is today and tomorrow shall be a new day.

Meaningless existence

Today, it started because of tea.

Her mind wondered as the ammunition came hurling her direction. Or at least, she tried. Words glazed past her and yet, it seep into her mind. The accusations and the hurt, branded in her memory. Words, intentionally said or not, once spoken can never be taken back.

She does not make any effort? She is constantly rude and ill mannered? All she thinks about is hanging out? It was all just baseless sayings and if there were even an ounce of truth in it, she would not utter a single breathe of denial. But facts are facts. And the facts are, she has done the very best that she can. The very best that she knew how to. There is only so much a person can do.

Perhaps with divine intervention, one can go further. But these days...

Whenever she could, she spends for them. Buying little knick knacks, offering and sharing the simplest pleasures that she could afford. And all that she asked was for him to make some tea for her. A cup of tea to help her stay alert and awake or perhaps, as a form of encouragement, love and support that he could have showed her. Perhaps, returning a favour in kind or rather, just as a form of showing his brotherly love.

Was that too much to ask? After all, she always offered to make a cup of tea whenever she could. And today, today was perhaps the day where enough was enough. He made tea for them both but he couldn't even remember to or didn't even stop to think of making tea for her. What was she to think and feel? She's only human.

He wasn't the only one lost and bewildered. He has been given so much and yet no signs of thankfulness is shown nor appreciation exhibited. Let off the frigging hook so much but still making excuses. The questions are: Can he see it? And what goes on in that intelligent mind of his? Why won't he voice out his concerns and burdens? Why can't he see that it's time to stop and move on?? Can he not see that his very actions are hurting both of them?

"Why do we persist in hurting those who love us?", she wondered. And why does those who profess to love , do not show it in actions and in words? She has been trying to stay afloat. Putting on a smiley face and braving the world.

But right now, she can't cos right now, she's defeated. Right now, her spirit is low.

And right now, she wonders and asks God, "why?

Life's Lessons

SOMETHING ABOUT ME: I want to go to Cambodia!!! Any takers??!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I received the below email from one of the Sues and I think it's definitely worth sharing!! My comments are those in purple.

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:"

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good. ~That's what I tell myself...

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step. ~True true.. baby steps.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. ~Haha. unfortunately, this one's hard to follow

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month. ~I used to be able to do this... with unemployment and low funds... hmmmm)\

6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree. ~All the time!!

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone. ~but who???

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it. ~it's not about whether He can take it, it's what's the consequences of doing so

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile. ~OMG!! tell me about it!

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about. ~Agree!

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it. ~100% true!!

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks

Pic was taken from HERE.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow. ~sounds like an oxymoron

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple. ~haha.. i think everyone has their lil quirks..

24. No one is in charge of your happiness but you. ~That is true but sometimes you can't go by your feelings and what you want

25. Frame every so-called disaster with these words ''In five years, will this matter?".

26. Always choose life.

27. Forgive everyone everything. ~I wish I had such a forgiving heart. Truly.

28. What other people think of you is none of your business.. ~But still ppl give a damn

29. Time heals almost everything. Give time, time. ~Almost...

30. However good or bad a situation is, it will change. ~Question is: for the better or for the worse?

31. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does. ~OMG!! seriously?

Pic was taken from HERE.

32. Believe in miracles. ~I want to witness one...

33. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

34. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now. ~That's what I am trying to do

35. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young. ~What's wrong with dying young?

36. Your children get only one childhood.

37. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved. ~Is it?

38. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

39. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

40. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need. ~Quite true in some sense

41. The best is yet to come. ~Then when will it come?

Pic was taken from HERE.

42. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

43. Yield.

44. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

It's estimated 93% won't forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will, forward this with the title '7%'. I'm in the 7%. Remember that I will always share my spoon with you! Friends are the family that we choose for ourselves.

Guy Sebastion- All I need is you...

Guy Sebastian- All I need is you

You're all, you're (I know) all that I Need
You are (yeah), you're all that I Need

I remember in the day being oh so independent
I remember how I'd say I could never fall I was cynical

Funny now in the days
Since you came into my life
Now I'll never be the same
Baby I'm amazed by the love you gave

Finally I can see
What a life really means to me, to me babe

[Chorus:]
All I need is you in my life forever
All I need is you everyday by my side
Got to let you know you're the one that I treasure
I can search the world but never find
A better love that is between you and I (I)
All I need is you (Yeah, oh, oooh, yeah, I)

When I look into your eyes
There's a feeling that I can't explain babe
That is when I realise
That all I desire is to lay by your side
Know whenever I'm alone
I wonder how I lived without you
Should've known all along
That my only world is with you in it girl

Finally I can see
What a life really means to me yeah, to me Yeah

[Chorus]

How did I find such a love so sweet
When I've only done a little right
Now I can see that it can be deserved
That the freedom that you give is mine (yeah, yeah)

[Chorus x2]

(You are, you're all that I need)
All I Need is you
(You are, you're all that I need)
Go to let you know
(You are, you're all that I need)
You're all, you're all that I need (Hey)
You are, you're all that I need
You are, you're all that I need
You are, you're all that I need

Nostalgia

I was thinking of coming up with another idea for the previous Smashpop's contest entry I posted HERE on Wednesday and was just digging though my old pictures. GOSH. I have sooo many albums!!

Albums ranging from 1995 and some, way earlier from 1993, all the way til present year!

My sweet 16th birthday party album.

My Aussie 2007 & some 2008 picture album!

A stack of hundreds of unsorted pictures and no albums to put them into yet.

1995- My two lil cousins & I- those 2 have now blossom into pretty chics and are now in college!

1996- My cheeky cousin, Jason who used to steal my soft toy, Mr. Penguin!

AND this is his younger brother who is now 6ft tall, if I am not mistaken.

1991- My std 1 class (and my crush is in the pic, if I am not wrong).

Remember those times when you'll get EVERYONE to sign at the back of the photos???

2001- If not mistaken the year, in Cameron Highlands with dearest Patches.

2002- SAM classmates and maths teacher! That was an awesome year.

2004- If not mistaken the year once again, Unimates celebrating Charlene's birthday at Chillis, 1Utama.

2004- Metropolitan College's free ball aka prom night.

With the bf and Sean, who decided to erm... spoil the pic?

2000- My 16th birthday!

That's me before blowing out the cannot-be-extinguished-by-blowing-candles that my mum bought unintentionally! Provided lots of laughter.

What's it with guys and jelly??

My bf and childhood friend and bananas. Punishment to a game we played- feed each other bananas, blindfolded, if not mistaken!

And my FIRST shot for the competition! My sis (partner-in-crime photographer) said it looked weird.

So, we had Take 2. Urgh! Dislike my unpretty/unsharp/uncute nose!

And we even attempted at a non-normal-smiley-kind-of-pic. But... eeps!!
Again.. the unattractive nose.

Just a portion of my photo albums.

Well, the remaining *unwashed pictures are in my laptop and all those thumbdrives above!!

*unwashed pictures- Company's 2008 annual dinner, Aussie 2008 and 2009 trip, BKK 2009 trip, weddings, colleagues farewells, Penang trip, CNY2009, Company's 2008 community day and so many other misc pictures of scneries, flowers etc!!
