Jay has always brought me back to a time before now. You know how when you listen to certain songs, it brings you back to a certain time, a certain period of your life where you were going through certain issues/ phases and every time you hear that song, it brings you down a certain memory lane?

For me, it's the same. The only thing is that, it's not just a song but Jay.

Every time I listen to any of Jay's songs, it brings me back to a certain year. A certain year where it all began. A year where someone first introduced him to me. I still remember listening to 可愛女人 and 星晴 and especially 黑色幽默 as if it was just yesterday.

Somehow, despite listening to Wang Lee Hom or any other singers, Jay will always be my first 'Chinese song' singer love.

And for that, you also hold a special place in my heart. :)

Jack Vidgen : the next Justin Bieber?

I watched the semifinals of Australia's Got Talent last night on Channel 7 and was wowed by a 14 year old, Jack Vidgen who hails from Manly, Sydney, when he sang "And I am telling you I am not going" from the 2006 musical- Dream Girls.

Not only did he nailed it, he aced it!! And that's with my bulu romas all giving him a standing ovation!!

I don't doubt Kyle Sandilands when he said that Jack could easily win this competition. Dannii Minogue claims that he is mind blowing where else Brian McFadden kissed Jack on the cheeks although Jack was hoping to get one from Dannii!!

The audition... singing "I have nothing" by Whitney Houston...

Came across this mash up of three songs - Love the way you lie by Rihanna featuring Eminem, Taio Cruz's Dynamite and Tennage Dreams by Katy Perry.

Sounds pretty good except till the end where he really mashed all the songs up, singing them together. That's when it got a little messy IMHO.

Still, 3 song in 1, not bad.

Me? 1 song? It would take a miracle. =p

Timeless - Jason Chen and Jenny Suk

I was first introduced to Jason Chen when I stumbled across one of his covers- with a Joseph Vincent. It was really good. I enjoyed their version better as opposed to Nelly's original version.

Jason has had many videos of him singing many songs over a period of few years. I stumbled across the below one featuring him and Jenny Suk last week. They both sang this song- Timeless - that was first performed by Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini.

I like how their voices mesh well together and boy does Jenny have a sweet and strong voice. I would love to have her voice! =)

Although I am not exactly a die hard fan of Kelly Clarkson, it is indisputable that she really is the all time, one and only, true Americon Idol! However, listening to the above and the below, I have to say that I prefer Jenny Suk's version.
