Miss Lawyer's Hen Night

We had to have Miss Lawyer's Hen Night on a weekday, last Wednesday to be precise due to her busy schedule and boy was the night on the streets really quiet!
The props
I decided to put the theme for the night 'Lavender and Peach' to be in line with her wedding theme. For simplicity and because of the last minute confirmations, I decided to just put it as all and any shades of purple or orange. Hence, participants of the night have to come dress according to the theme or face a penalty of me dressing them in something funky that I had bought before hand like the big purple diamante tie you see in the above pictures. Either that or some other fancy headbands!
I bought several bottles of Jacob Creek's Moscato a few days before the party and made some notes saying 'Yiing's Hen Night'. I chose this slightly pinkish passable for peach coloured Moscato to be inline with the theme of the night.

And because many of Miss Lawyer's friends were outstation and couldn't make it for the hen party as they would only be flying in a day before the wedding, I decided to get them to answer a few questions and make them into heart shaped hang up cards.

So much for my awesome idea. My fingers were numbed from all the cutting! I had to cut 13 heart shapes after printing the wordings out, stick them onto the thicker coloured papers AND cut them out again!! Ohmigosh! Never doing this again... Nah... that's just what I say but for any good friend of mine, I'll go all out again for her.

The tv room was a real mess with all the baby papers covering the carpet.
Basket full of things for the bride-to-be to sell; roses, adult rubber and some chocolates. No worries, I did asked Miss Lawyer before the night if she was game to 'sell' things to people in the name of fun to which she said,"yes".

We met up at Tuscan Bar for dinner and the plan was to play some games whilst waiting for the food and whilst dining followed by a trip up to the rooftop bar for her to display her 'sales' skills. However, despite plans, one must always be prepared to be flexible and work around the changes.
We were so engrossed talking and talking and talking and... you get the picture. It took us an hour plus just to order our wine and finally, our food. To be fair, Miss Lawyer has not met her friends (the few who could make it) for quite some time. Hence, the catch up session.

And because I had actually contacted Miss Lawyer's partner, Mr. CL beforehand for some Q & A, for his efforts, I told the girls, we had to play the game. It was broken into three parts whereby part one was about 'how well Miss Lawyer knows Mr. CL' followed by 'does Mr. CL know Miss Lawyer?' and finally, some questions on both of them.

One of Miss Lawyer's friends commented that the questions were easy. But you'd be surprise at how we, humans take even the simplest things forgranted, at times. Miss Lawyer struggled to answer some of the questions and it provided many rounds of laughter for us.

If she answered correctly, the penalty for the girl asking the questions is to eat a food from the table to help finished the food. However, if Miss Lawyer answered the questions wrongly, she had to drink a dodgy drink from a dodgy shaped bottle. It was the only 'naughty' element I added into the night and the girls loved it! LOL.

The bottle was in the shape of a particular male anatomy. I didn't post it here so as not to be too crude. ;p Feel free to email me your request if you want to have a look at a picture of it.

Our gift to Miss Lawyer. A bell to ring for a kiss. Lol.
Mr. C was having a good time ringing it at home before the hen night requesting me for a kiss. It's a good thing that bell isn't for him or me. The shop I bought it was selling bells with other wordings.. replacing kiss with sex. LOL. Don't really know Mr. CL well... hence, didn't want to leave a crazy impression of us in his mind, hence, this mild but cute bell.
Antipasto platter for four which was delicious!

The pretty ladies of the night.

I <3 chandeliers and have always wished to have one in my future home.

Interesting couple who was funny and sporting.
After dinner, as Tuscan Bar was pretty desolate and empty whereby most patrons have left for home, we decided to walk towards Miss Lawyer's hotel. And along the way, she can attempt to sell the items in her basket.

It was pretty awkward at first. And most people were saying why are we making her do this and that for her hens night, we should get her a stripper. I guess that must be the general Aussie culture and way of celebrating a buck or hen night, having a stripper. Apparently, they do go all out and have a really wild night.

It wasn't possible for us as it was a weeknight. City was quiet. And all the girls had to work the next day except Miss Lawyer and me. So, it was more of a simple, sweet memorable night.

I found it funny that she asked a busker for money when he was busking for money! But he bought chocs from her!! Such a sport!

And who says Asians aren't sporting??!

Finally, the woman of the night, counting her earnings with glee. LOL. She earned enough to cover either the bottle of wine ordered or the antipasto platter. LOL again. All I hope is that she and the other girls had fun despite the low key affair. ;)
Whatsapped Miss Bubbly my efforts and she's booked me to organised hers when it's due. LOL. I hope I do a super fun one for her when the time comes!!
