My wedding took placed in December 2011. Yes, I know that's more than a year a go but that doesn't mean I can't browse at pretty pictures right? Especially if it's my interest. I have pin hoards and hoards of such pictures on my Pinterest board for ideas and inspirations.
I reckon it's important to have a beautifully set up reception and guestbook table.
It should be a form of a welcome to guests as they prepare for the wedding banquet. This is especially important if the couple are not able to greet each and everyone of their guests.
A good set up would be one that is not just aesthetically pretty but has a personal feel and gives a glimpse of the couple; who they are, how they met and their likes and dislikes.
Bearing in mind, many guests (in Malaysia, that is) are usually the parents' and they might only know the groom or the bride side and might be curious how each met the other.
Some people can go over the top. I reckon, simple yet elegant is important.
For this particular friend, I envisioned white table clothe with tiffany blue (or even turquoise) organza clothe atop giving texture and a soft look. Lay out some pictures of the bride and groom encased in white photo frames. Some of them stuck craftily with lace or paper doilies
If the blue clothe is too much, we can throw a couple of white feathers to soften the blue.
Perhaps have a few flowers filled can (or vase) in either white or blue spread out and some sweeties for guests. As this friend likes all things butterfly, I am hoping to incorporate some butterflies on the table or perhaps some onto a makeshift photo booth.
For a simple DIY photobooth that's cheap on the pocket, I imagine blue and white clothes hung like curtains with butterflies stuck artistically on it. Gosh. Thinking about all this makes me a little mad at myself for not putting more effort into mine. Lols.
But am wondering if it's possible to fit all these ideas with my friend's tight budget for the reception, guestbook table not including a photobooth. We shall see. Time to experiment.
