Wedding dress shopping on ebay !!

I was supposed to head home to Malaysia in June to hunt for wedding dresses but seeing how pricey airfares are, I am staying put in Melbourne. However, my fingers are crossed that I might find a cheap ticket back in July or August. And to be honest, it's not just about hunting for dresses but I miss my 'freedom' back home and my friends. =(

One can definitely hope for cheap deals as one sends a silent plea up to the high heavens. Right?

And as I haven't started any shopping for wedding dresses, I thought to just check it out on ebay to see what kind of dresses they are offering. If you sign up wedding packages with bridal houses back home in Malaysia, dresses come with the package- lessening a bride's hassle of hunting for a few gowns and it's easier on the purse strings.

This is also a follow up from the post on my DREAM WEDDING DRESS...

#1a (FRONT) - This dress is GORGEOUS but I don't fancy the neckline although I seem to be in love with laces...

#1b (BACK) - Just love the looong veil... better than having a super heavy trail of dress.

Surprisingly, ebay has a pretty wide selection and not only are they pretty, they are affordable! It's definitely cheaper than renting wedding dresses and ball gowns back home. If you're worried on the quality and the fitting, they do have a return/refund policy. In fact, you can also exchange it for a different dress if you don't like the one you bought!

And if I am not mistaken, it's custom made to fit your size as they request a rather detailed measurement of oneself - just like how a tailor/seamstress would measure you if you went to them for a tailor made outfit.

#2a (FRONT) - the one is lovelier than the first one in terms of the neckline. It's sweet and simple!

#2b (BACK) - Do like the simple end of the bottom part of the dress... but not the top half.

#3a (FRONT) - another lacey wedding dress... love the neckline but don't fancy the bow at the empire line.
I think, a striking blue sash would make the dress more outstanding! Otherwise, it's too plain.

#3b (BACK) - Still prefer #2's bottom train...

#4a (FRONT) - This is simple, elegant and conservative as compared to most dresses as it has a high neckline.
Lovely for a beach wedding or a simple garden wedding if one doesn't want to be sweating like mad under Malaysian's awesome heat in a super heavy, puffy gown!

#4b (BACK) - See the simplicity of the gown? It's high necked in the front and yet back scooped with a simple hemming. And having a heavy, long veil makes the dress not look too simple! =)

Problem with checking out ebay, there are just too many choices!! I have to think how many dresses do I want and for what occasion. Looking at the dresses makes me think of an excuse to get them. I realised that I've chosen many tube tops but it might not suit me well due to my broad shoulders and erm... not-so-slim arms!

But fret not, I still have 6 months to lose weight... or so I keep consoling myself. =p

Despite trying to be practical and not succumb to following the norm, I am currently looking for a white wedding dress with a blue sash for the ceremony followed by perhaps three gowns for the luncheon and tea ceremony - one blue, long gown (blue 'cos it's my favourite colour), a cheongsam (if possible as I am Chinese but one has to be super slim to look good in this!) and a kebaya (after all, I am part of Nyonya and Baba background as my mum repeatedly reminds me).

However, now I feel like scraping the cheongsam AND the kebaya due to all the lovely gowns I've seen so far. I won't be showing the ones that I am thinking of trying out as I don't want to spoil the surprise for the actual day. But I'll show some that are just as nice.

#5 - This would be nice for the ceremony bit but I find it a little too simple.
I definitely wouldn't want to be outshine by my guest... which bride would?
And if I were to get this, I would definitely request for a change in colour from pink to BLUE!! =)

#6 - This is really beautiful but it suits more of one in pale skin like the above actress

#7 - Would definitely change colour of the dress... pink is so NOT me!

#8 - I must admit that I seem to have a thing for one shouldered dresses...

#9 - This is sweet but not everyone can carry out this kind of cap-sleeved dress but the dusky pink appeals to me despite my not being a pink fan.

#10 - Despite having a liking for one shouldered dresses and being a blue fan,
I seem to have a penchant for dresses that are grey and silver ish...
see what I mean? Too many choices complicates everything!!

#11a (FRONT) - I love chiffon dresses 'cos it suits my not-so-slim body better.
Material is soft and not so harsh on showing one's love handles as opposed to satin and other stiffer material.

#11b (BACK) - I like the back portion...
the way the material falls and the simple jewel ornament adding a little something more to the simple gown.
And you know on your wedding, pictures of the bride are usually taken by MANY cameras and from many angles!

#12a (FRONT) - This one feels more of a prom dress than a bride's.
But I love how versatile this dress can be- allowing one dress the ability to be changed to three different styles!

#12b (BACK) - The left picture's long dress bit looks good.

#13 - Besides blue, I gravitate to royal purple.
And did I mention about my love for one shouldered dresses already??! ;p

#14 - oooh this is one of my favourites that I really wished to get for my special day but not only do I NOT have the cleavage for this dress, I don't have a flat tummy!

Anyways, if I really decide to get a wedding dress off ebay, I'll probably get it in June or in the later months. The one that I have my eyes on isn't exactly elegant or regal but more towards cutesie. Guess that's me... more the cutesie kind than the sexy or pretty kind. =)

Really need to be more discipline in getting fit. It's possible to lose all these love handles but... as some people say, "there is no ugly woman but a lazy one".

Hi,
It is very wise for women to choose these beautiful dresses. Then they can buy more with the same amount of money. Here you can choose your choice Ball gown at a reasonable price. I like it.

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell
and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed
the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
