Mage Cafe @ Damansara Jaya

Several Saturday ago, my family and I went to Mage Cafe for dinner. My plurk friends had been somewhat raving about the Tom Yam fried rice and the other food served there.

One is spoilt for choices!!

There is fried rice to Pizza to Pasta to Asam Laksa to Shepherd's Pie.

I heard that Ryan's pizza is nice though I have yet to try it. The pizza is named after the owner's son whom you'll see at the shop off and on.

Originally, this shop started out as a board games shop but as the previous owner couldn't make ends meet within several months of being in business, the current owner took over the shop and called it Mage Cafe, serving food and at the same time, people can play the board games available.

Tom Yam Fried Rice (approx RM9)
Big portion and has nice tom yam flavouring. Would have been better if it was served hot than lukewarm ish. (definitely enough rice for guys).

Shepherd's Pie (approx RM4-5)
Interesting presentation and value for your money as the pie's feeling is stuffed with chunky meat with some vege served at the side.

Oriental Chicken (I think it's over RM11 if i am not mistaken)
My brother and sister loves it for it's taste and portion!

Spaghetti Carbonara (less than RM10)
Doesn't taste like the usual version. Nothing too fancy.
Nothing super awesome but neither was it horrible.

Asam Laksa

Basically, the shop is at Damansara Jaya area facing Atria shopping complex. It is situated at the row BEHIND Maybank. Just a few shoplots away from Bon Bon's that is famous for it's durian pancakes, or is it crepe.

Don't be misled by the humble interior surroundings of the small shop that looks empty ish as it has been in business for the past 3 years according to the lady owner. So, head over there to give the food a try, if not, it also can be a place to hang out with your friends and play some board games.

IF you don't order food, you'll be charge a small fee for playing the board games if I am not mistaken.
