POLITICS: Sami Vellu, why dig a hole for yourself?? Seriously, office politics is just like the Country's politics. So much dissatisfaction with upper management who's supposed to be there for the people but at the end... is there anything that can be done about it besides whinging?

Yesterday, we finally managed to sit down to have lunch together as a family at Summer Palace for dim sum. It's been awhile since I last went there and I so loooove the liu sha pao" (mandarin) or rather the "lou sah pao" (cantonese). Er.. I think in English it's Custard Salted Egg Bun.
As usual, once waiting for your order, it's traditional to start off with some nuts. To perhaps make one nutty?? Sorry the pun.

And as the order starts coming in, we helped ourselves to "Char Siew Pao" (BBQ pork steamed bun), "Yu Yun" (Fishball), our all time favourite- "Siew Mai" (a meaty dish with prawn).
We also had "Ha Gao" (Prawn Dumpling), "Lou Ma Kai" (Chicken and mushroom in glutinous rice) and other "dim sum" dishes normally made up of pork meat.
"Liu sha pao" was introduced to me by Wen on my very first trip to Summer Palace. However, only my dad and I liked it. My mum says she prefers savoury over sweet dishes. But this pao is delectable in taste. It's sweet due to the custard and yet a tinge of saltiness due to the salty egg incorporated. You've got to try this if you ever go there!
My friend tried the "Liu Sha Pao" at Little Dimsum Place in SS2 and at Canton-I, 1Utama but the insides had harden. It was not oozing out in liquid form as the above pics. Hence, failed in my opinion.

The Fish fillet porridge too was good. Texture of it was soooo smooth. I don't think I've ever tasted such smooth porridge in my life!! Literally slid down from my mouth into my throat!
And what is a meal outing without taking pics of the family??!!! It was really tough getting a clear shot of my shy brother as he kept hiding his handsome face with the menu, his hands or the napkin!
But I persevered...
and finally got a picture of him although not a very good/flattering one. *HEHE* He's probably going to kosh me on the head if he ever reads this post with so many pics of him here!!
By the way, ladies, he is single and available!! Waiting for his fair lady to sweep her off her feet!! Maybe literally!! =p
